Virtue isn't the issue. Corporations of any size are interested in one thing and one thing only when they get involved in politics: rent seeking. And rent seeking is never, ever good for society. Just because there were holes in the campaign finance dam in the form of PACs doesn't mean we might as well knock the whole fucking thing over and see what happens. You have to get past the "corporations are just collections of people" bit, which is kind of obnoxious, but the part about distinguishing between media corporations and other kinds of corporations was interesting. I was pretty upset by the ruling, too, but this article is giving me some pause.
